Quick answers

Start here.

These answers cover the usual administrative questions. Instructions issued for your visit or procedure take priority.

Call 703-594-1583
Do I need a referral?

Some insurance plans and some clinical services require one. Call 703-594-1583 with your insurance information and the reason for the visit. We will tell you what the office needs; your health plan makes the final coverage decision.

What records should be sent before my visit?

Send the records that bear on the surgical question: recent clinical notes, operative history, laboratory and pathology results, imaging reports, and the location of the original images. Call before sending anything so we can give you the approved channel.

Can I email records or photographs?

No. Do not send medical records, diagnoses, medication lists, photographs, or urgent questions to the general email address. Use the patient portal if access has been issued, fax to 571-601-2937, or call for instructions.

Where will my office appointment take place?

Consultations, comprehensive pre-op appointments, selected office procedures, and follow-up take place at 3650 Joseph Siewick Drive, Suite 205B, Fairfax, Virginia 22033. Review the campus map before leaving home.

Where will an advanced procedure take place?

Our clinicians hold privileges at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, where advanced procedures are performed when hospital operating rooms, monitoring, or inpatient resources are appropriate. Follow the exact facility and entrance instructions issued for your procedure; do not assume the office suite is the arrival point.

How do I get patient portal access?

Use the invitation or access link issued by the practice. If the link expired, you changed email addresses, or you never received an invitation, call 703-594-1583. Do not send a password by email.

Should I stop a medication before surgery?

Do not stop a prescribed medication because of general website information. The responsible clinical office will give you a procedure-specific plan for medicines, fasting, testing, transportation, and arrival.

Does the practice accept my insurance?

Coverage depends on the plan, clinician, service, and care setting. Call 703-594-1583 with the exact insurance information before the visit. Authorization or a referral does not guarantee payment.

Can I request an interpreter or accessibility assistance?

Yes. Call 703-594-1583 before the appointment so the office can arrange appropriate communication assistance or discuss an accommodation.

What should I do about urgent symptoms?

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for an emergency. For a time-sensitive concern that is not an emergency, call the responsible clinical office; do not rely on email, fax, or a website response.
